Meet the People Behind Beyora

Our team combines decades of corporate finance experience with a passion for empowering analysts across Australia. We're not just experts in our field—we're educators, mentors, and advocates for financial excellence.

Our Leadership Team

Each member of our core team brings unique expertise and perspective to the world of corporate finance. From investment banking to financial modeling, our diverse backgrounds create a comprehensive approach to financial analysis education.

Dr. Sarah Chen

Chief Financial Strategist

Investment Banking M&A Analysis Risk Management

Sarah started her career at Goldman Sachs in Sydney before moving to Melbourne's boutique investment firms. With over 15 years in corporate finance, she's led more than 200 M&A transactions worth over billion combined.

What sets Sarah apart isn't just her technical expertise—it's her ability to break down complex financial concepts into digestible learning modules. She joined Beyora in 2022 because she believes every analyst deserves access to world-class financial education, regardless of their firm's size or location.

Sarah holds a PhD in Financial Economics from Melbourne University and is a CFA charterholder. When she's not analyzing balance sheets, you'll find her hiking the Grampians or experimenting with new coffee brewing methods.

Marcus Thompson

Senior Corporate Finance Analyst

Financial Modeling Valuation Data Analytics

Marcus cut his teeth in the corporate finance division of ANZ before transitioning to boutique advisory work. His specialty lies in creating financial models that actually make sense—something he learned the hard way after encountering too many overcomplicated spreadsheets early in his career.

At Beyora, Marcus focuses on developing practical tools and methodologies that analysts can immediately apply in their daily work. He's particularly passionate about democratizing advanced financial modeling techniques that were once exclusive to top-tier investment banks.

Marcus earned his Bachelor of Commerce from UNSW and completed the Advanced Financial Modeling course at Wharton. Outside of finance, he's an avid cyclist and volunteers as a mentor for university students entering the finance industry.

Our Story

Beyora wasn't born in a boardroom or conceived during a strategy session. It started in 2018 when Sarah and Marcus realized they were having the same conversation with junior analysts across Australia: "I wish I had learned this in university" and "My firm doesn't have the resources for this level of training."

"We saw brilliant minds struggling with tools and concepts that should be standard knowledge for any corporate finance professional. That's when we knew we had to create something different."

The name Beyora comes from combining "beyond" and "aura"—representing our belief that financial expertise should extend beyond traditional boundaries and create a lasting impact that radiates throughout organizations.

Since 2018, we've worked with over 3,000 analysts across Australia, from Perth mining companies to Sydney investment banks. Our approach remains unchanged: provide world-class financial education that's immediately applicable, thoroughly practical, and accessible to professionals at every career stage.

We're not just another training company. We're former practitioners who understand the real challenges facing today's analysts because we've faced them ourselves. Every course, every tool, and every methodology we develop comes from actual experience in the trenches of corporate finance.
